Surprise Bloom & New Blog

On my Easel right now.

A new miniature is on my easel. I'm just putting the finishing touches on it and will be posting it soon. My subject was a miniature orchid I received as a retirement gift last year. I honestly didn't think it would ever bloom again! I loved capturing it in paint.

In case you didn't know, I wanted to mention that I started a New Blog called "Creative Rituals". Honestly, I can't believe I started another blog, but felt it needed a separate platform. Basically, it is being used to anecdote daily or almost daily creative explorations. You can read all about my new blog on the About page. If you would like to sign up for email updates, I would love to have you subscribe here. Thanks!

My son Brett and I are discussing some neat ways to consolidate all my blogs in the future. I'm excited about some of the ideas we came up with. I'll have to sweet talk Brett to implement our ideas in computer language! lol

Wishing you a great day! I'm crossing my fingers that Spring will be here soon!

Warmly,
Debbie

New Fine Art Gift Bags/New Blog!

Violet Heads part of  a New Fine Art Gift Bag! Available

Just before Christmas I launched my "Fine Art Gift Bags. I was very humbled and thrilled at how well received they became. The idea grew after visiting a new shop in my area. I loved the way in which the shop owner/artisan had artistically set up her new shop. I also loved how her wares were packaged. We had a wonderful chat the day I visited.

That visit along with my love for teaming with other like minded entrepreneurs/artisans helped my vision evolve for these new Fine Art Bags. My intention was to make each bag personal and unique; to hold a special energy of their own. This would greatly align with my philosophy that I take to the creation of my miniature work. Each miniature is like a small meditation; thus these new bags needed to mimic this intention as well. I really enjoy assembling each one and am always delighted to see what my two counterparts come up with in their interpretation of my miniature oil painting.

You can read more about my bags here. The collection below is available as a Fine Art Gift Bag.

On another note, I have started a New Blog entitled "Small Pauses". As an artist I often take note of my everyday surroundings and occurrences. These happenings and subjects often weave themselves into my work. The blog is about taking small pauses within your busy days. Taking time to acknowledge everyday happenings create subtle joy and a sense of well being. I would love for you to join me, by offering your own experiences or thoughts. Or you can just come visit, read and follow me quietly.

Thanks so much!
Warmly,
Debbie

New Online Fine Art Shop!

I am thrilled to finally share my New Online Fine Art Shop with you! After much thought and many hours it has finally come together! The concept for my shop has been brewing for some time. As long as I can remember I have always been interested in one's space and its effects on the individual.

As a child I remember playing with this concept innately. I loved to imagine special rooms in the space around me. During wintertime I would find little nooks and pretend a small room existed. Here I would envision furniture within the space. Often my friends and I would build snow furniture to fit into this special niche. These were fun times and ones that stayed with me throughout adulthood.

As an adult I still love creating special spots in my home or quaint vignettes where I display fine art. The paintings and the world or objects they represent create a sense of comfort and adventure, allowing one's mind to escape everyday responsibilities. Thus, fine art serves as a mini retreat without ever having to leave your comfy spot.

Throughout my shop and blog I hope to merge "fine art" and philosophies about "space". I will share new work, books, ideas and visually inspired spaces that will assist in helping you incorporate fine art into your own personal or business space. Follow along with me by subscribing to my posts. You will then receive new posts in your email!

I love hearing from you and welcome any comments or thoughts you have about my shop or about creating inspired spaces. Wishing you much inspiration in creating your own uplifting spaces!

Warmly,

Debbie
